The Weekend Already Feels Like Derby Day

By Saturday afternoon, traffic leaving Johannesburg and Soweto typically slows down. Group chats are buzzing with excitement, and most people have already picked a side: either the defending champions or Amakhosi, hoping they can secure a win. The big game is Orlando Pirates against Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium, starting at 3:30 PM. Both teams are still undefeated in the Premiership, tickets sold out long ago, and the usual pre-derby excitement is building. Betfred is offering a special casino reward for those who place a bet on the match.

How the Soweto Spins Offer Works

You place a single of at least R50 on the Pirates–Chiefs game. It has to be at 2/1 (3.0) or better. Multiples don’t count, and neither do bets made with bonus money. Once that single settles, 100 free spins on Gates of Olympus Super Scatter land in the account within two hours. You then have 24 hours to use them before they disappear. Only one allocation per customer, and the whole thing is only available from 29 to 31 October.

That odds requirement stops people from just taking a short-priced favourite and still picking up the spins. You actually have to pick something the market has priced at 3.0 or longer. For a derby that regularly stays tight, that is usually doable on either team, the draw, or a goal-related market. New account this week? Here is a simple tip. Use the Betfred promo code SAGAMES at sign-up so the normal welcome package arrives first. That gives you more room to place your R50 single at a fair price. You will not have to scrape together the minimum.

What You Actually Get on Gates of Olympus Super Scatter

The spins go onto Pragmatic Play’s Gates of Olympus Super Scatter. This game is played on a 6x5 grid where you win by getting eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the screen. When you win, those symbols disappear, and new ones fall into place.

During this process, multiplier orbs, which can be as high as 500 times your bet, might appear. The special Super Scatter symbol is a game-changer. If it lands along with enough regular scatter symbols, it can give you an instant prize. This prize can be anywhere from 100 times your bet up to the top prize of 50,000 times your bet, even before the free spins begin. In the free spins round, a multiplier builds up and continues to increase throughout the round instead of resetting after each spin.

Key game details

6×5 scatter-pays grid (no traditional paylines)
High volatility
RTP around 96.5% on standard play
Multiplier orbs up to 500x
Super Scatter can deliver instant payouts up to 50,000x
Free spins feature with accumulating multipliers

Current Form and Why the Odds Matter

Pirates sit second and still look the stronger side on recent league evidence. Chiefs are also unbeaten but further back; they managed to keep key defenders available by careful midweek squad management. Historical numbers across the full rivalry still favour Chiefs, while the last couple of league meetings have gone the other way. None of that changes the promotion rules. The book only checks that your single meets the stake and odds conditions.

Simple ways people are approaching the qualifying bet

Taking either team at 3.0 or longer if the price is there
Looking at the draw on a fixture that has produced plenty of low-scoring results
Checking goal-related markets that clear the 2/1 threshold
Avoiding very short prices that fall below 3.0
Using any welcome funds from a SAGAMES registration to cover the R50 without touching money set aside for something else

Conditions Worth Checking Before You Bet

Important terms

Promotion window: 29–31 October 2026 only
Qualifying fixture: Orlando Pirates vs Kaizer Chiefs on 31 October 2026
Free spins restricted to Gates of Olympus Super Scatter
Irregular play (covering all outcomes, linked accounts, coordinated patterns) can void the spins and related winnings
Betfred reserves the right to alter or withdraw the offer

Quick checklist before placing the bet

Confirm the selection is a single
Check the odds are 2/1 (3.0) or better
Make sure you are using real-money funds (welcome bonus money from a SAGAMES sign-up counts as real once it has been credited and meets the usual play-through if any)
Note that spins arrive only after the bet settles
Plan to use the spins within 24 hours
