Four weekly boards, then a fifth that pays the top 30 from points carried over
Prize pool is R3,000,000, covered by EGT Digital
From 1 to 31 October 2026, a R2 spin on any EGT Digital game at Playbet scores points for four weekly cash boards and a fifth top-30 board, with R3 million in the pot.

What October Heat is, and how you get in

October on the EGT reels is usually just another month of crowns, bells and hot sevens. This one is different. Playbet is running EGT Digital’s October Heat network tournament, and the R3 million prize pool is covered by the studio, not scraped out of a site budget. The promo page has it live through 31 October, with Week 2 (9–15 October) as the current board.

You do not opt in. Open any EGT Digital title in the Playbet lobby, stake at least R2, and the spin counts. There is no shortlist of selected games. If it is an EGT Digital game on the site, it is in.

How the five boards are split

The month is cut into four races, then a fifth that only looks at what you already banked.

Missing a week does not end the month

Miss a week, and you have not blown the month. You have only missed that week’s payout. The fifth board takes the accumulated results of the four phases and ranks a separate top 30. Those 30 places are paid on their own. A steady October can beat one loud Saturday, because the final table is built from the whole month, not from whichever week you happened to catch fire.

You can only take one prize per tournament. A weekly win does not lock you out of the final 30, and a final-board prize does not replace a weekly one you already earned. It does stop the same board paying you twice.

Playbet states the R3 million total and the five-board shape. It does not publish the rank-by-rank split, so the live table on the promo page is the one to trust for who is being paid what.

How points are worked out

Points use a simple formula: (winnings ÷ bet) × 100. The multiple matters more than the stake size.

  • A R2 spin that returns R20 is (20 ÷ 2) × 100 = 1,000 points.
  • The same R20 back from a R10 spin is (20 ÷ 10) × 100 = 200 points.
  • Dead spins score nothing. A zero win divided by any stake is still zero.

Same cash on the screen, five times fewer points. Volume alone will not drag you up this board. The R2 floor is the cheapest ticket into the formula, and smaller stakes leave more room for a big multiple. Chasing losses with a fat stake is a poor way to climb. The maths punishes it.

Winnings here mean the return on that bet. Playbet has not published a tie-break on the promo page, so treat a shared score as unresolved until the board closes.

Who can enter, and when the cash lands

The rules on the promo page are short, and they are the ones that determine a payout.

  • You must be 18 or over, with an active, verified Playbet account.
  • The tournament runs on all available EGT Digital games.
  • The minimum bet is R2.
  • Winners of each weekly board, and of the final board, are credited within 72 hours of that board closing.
  • One prize per tournament.
  • Malfunctions and errors can void play and payouts.
  • EGT Digital can change the rules at its own discretion.
  • The promo sits under Playbet’s general terms.

Starting from a new account

Existing players just open an EGT game and stake R2. If the account is new, register first and enter the playbet promo code SAGAMES at signup. That code is for the welcome offer on a fresh account, not a tournament booster, and it will not add points. What it does is put the welcome offer on the account before you start the R2 qualifying spins, which is useful in a month where every scored session can feed both a weekly prize and the final 30.

The welcome offer and the tournament are separate. Bonus cash and free-spin rounds follow their own wagering, expiry and game rules, and they are not the same thing as a leaderboard prize. Check the offer shown at registration before you deposit. Tournament prizes come off real-money spins on EGT Digital games, credited after each board closes.
